Bury Cub Scouts are young people (boys and girls) aged between 8 and 10 ½. They are the second section of the Scout Group following on from Beavers, and preceding Scouts. Bury Cubs has been running for well over a decade, and has always provided its members with a diverse and interesting programme, enabling it to attract a range of young people from a wide area.

Over the last year, the pack have been cooking in the back woods, camping, competing in the national Box Kart Championship, building bridges, visiting a fire station, tunnelling, making Airfix models and much more.

What we’ve been up to…

The Supreme!

Last year we entered the Supreme Box Kart Championship with two karts. The first team went for it and were only eliminated in a play off, while the younger Cubs in the second team did really well overturning two local rivals.

Camping

This year our Cubs have had the chance to go to three camps, the District Survival Camp, the District Cub Camp and our own Group Camp. All are great fun, with lots of activities like air rifles, archery, climbing, abseiling, canoeing and making smores!

Water Activities

Every summer we finish our year with a fun evening of water activities, where the Cubs compete in their Sixes. The evening always ends with a water pistol fight, awards, investitures and goodbyes.
