Your young person is eligible to join Beavers from 5 ¾ years of age, but we often have a waiting list so it is a good idea to put your name down before they are old enough to ensure they come to the top of the list at the right time! Our Beaver Colony is based at Pulborough Village Hall, meeting on Friday evenings between 17:20 and 18:30.

Beavers are full of energy and we appreciate that last thing on a Friday will not be the best time for quiet focus so we organise our programme to have a variety of activities and games each evening, often utilising a carousel system to keep the evening moving. Scouting must be youth-centred and we incorporate ‘log chews’ into our programme to get ideas for activities, games and badge preferences from the Beavers which we try to plan into the upcoming sessions. We have had visits from police officers, paramedics, history reenactors, gone for walks, cooked on firepits, made clay models, painted stones, been scientists, learned about compasses and maps. We are even going to have a yacht trip!

We also take part in the Annual GoBeavers event at Blacklands farm where Beavers can have a go at climbing walls, obstacle courses, tunnels, Cavebus, grass sledging, crafts and more…

Beavers work towards badges and the ultimate Chief Scouts Bronze Award while having lots of fun together.

Parents of current Beavers are welcome to join our closed Beaver Facebook group.
